History of the Huntly Surgery
The Huntly Dental Practice is one of the oldest established dental surgeries in the Grampian region having served the people of Huntly for more than 50 years now. Mr Navin Aziz took over the practice in 2009 from the two previous dental owners who had spent 35 years serving the local community.
Very Best Care for Huntly
Before Mr Aziz took over the practice consisted of two surgeries and all the facilities were very small and insufficient to meet the latest recommendations surrounding the decontamination of instruments and disability compliance. Mr Aziz wanted to provide the very best care for the community and has renovated the practice and not only refurbished the two surgeries, but has built an additional three, making it a five surgery practice today. Currently, the practice has two waiting rooms, five state of the art surgeries all equipped with digital x-ray, decontamination room and staff facilities. Today, all five (two ground floor and three first floor surgeries) have disabled access, and there is also a disabled toilet and baby changing unit in the practice. Mr Aziz did not only renovate the practice, he changed the future of the practice and the way it serves the community and surrounding areas.
Truly Late Opening Hours
In order to improve the service and to provide better access to the community, especially to those who commute to the surrounding larger towns, Mr Aziz made the innovative decision to open the surgery from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. He was the first practice to offer such extended opening hours.
Redefining NHS Dentistry
The dentists, nurses and receptionists form a very good team which is the foundation of the practice today. Mr Aziz and his team have continued the tradition of a warm and family run dental practice to the people of the immediate local area and beyond as they seek to provide the best NHS dental care possible to their patients.
